Cleaning Septic Tanks
Title: Septic Tank Media Clean and Service
Location: Longton, Lancashire
Project Description: This shared septic tank was in needed of a service, it has started to smell and the drains were becoming clogged because the tank was no longer working properly. We cleaned out the filter media with our screening bucket, inspected the inside of the tank for leaks, checked the inlet and outlets of the tank, all internal workings, dip pipes, tippler plate etc. Once cleaned we re-instated the filter media after washing down the inside of the tank and finally replaced the lid. The job was completed in a day, the tank should continue to function well for many years to come.
Removing the tank lid.
Removing the filter media, prior to cleaning it and re-using it rather than throwing it away
Cleaning the media using our screening bucket
Rinsing the tippler plate prior to checking its mechanism and greasing the hinges
Re-instating the cleaned filter media, this should improve the effectiveness of the tank for many years to come and prevent the soakaway/land drain from clogging up
A final clean before replacing the lid. This process is usually complete in one day
